Code of Ethics and By-Laws
We,
the members of BEMA, believing in fair and honorable
practices, and that the best interests of our industry
the public welfare and ourselves, is attained only
by striving, at all times, to maintain high ethical
standards, do ordain and establish these principles
of good business conduct as our "Code of Ethics"
and do pledge ourselves thereto.
1.
We will, at all times, conduct our business in a fair,
honorable manner; truly represent our products only
as they actually are; do what we promise to do and
promise only what we reasonably can do; compete fairly
with others on the basis of merits of our products
and services; refrain from false or misleading statements
or insinuation about competitors, their products or
services; and make no unfair, erroneous or misleading
comparison thereof.
2.
We will recognize the rights of employees to use all
honorable and reasonable efforts to better their conditions;
seek to improve and safeguard the working conditions
of our employees, maintain a sincere interest in the
welfare of our employees believing as we do that the
best employees are employees who realize that theirs
is an important part of the industrial structure,
no matter how minor their job may be! and we are interested
in their proving of greater value to the industry
and in their welfare.
3.
We will at all times, seek to improve our business,
products, and services; availing ourselves of technical
developments; keeping abreast of changing conditions;
and pioneering to advance the quality and efficiency
of our products and equipment in the interest of industry
progress and the public welfare.
4.
We will be loyal in our support of the Association
in its efforts to promote our industry.
5.
We will cooperate with allied industries in advancing
the cause of our industry in the interest of the public
welfare and general good.
6.
We will be guided by the spirit of justice, honor,
and fairness in all our relations with members of
the allied trades. We will discourage unfair trade
practices which may exist in those trades even though
such practices may, at times, be to our own immediate
advantage.
7.
We will adhere faithfully to the rules of conduct
herein set forth and, by doing so, encourage our fellow
members to do likewise.
