2017 Summit Recap

At the 2017 Summit, held February 25-26, we welcomed 28 first-time attendees, the most ever for this event.  This year’s Winter Summit delivered networking and education in an efficient one-day schedule.  The focus of the meeting were a panel on sustainability,an IBIE update, keynote by Todd Dewett and a preview of the BEMA-U leadership training.

Sustainability for Equipment and Supply Chain

Sravani Janga, (Campbell’s Soup Company), Elysa Hammond, (Clif Bar), and Tracie Sheehan (ARYZTA) connected their companies’ commitment to sustainability with their equipment and ingredient needs.

The panel discussed practical needs like flexible lines, integrated sanitary design and alternative energy sources. Each company takes a broad approach to sustainability including not only environmental concerns but associates, consumers and their communities as well.
