CEO Insights: A NEXUS Mindset

2023 is off to an incredible start. One theme I already see carrying over from last year is the expediency of what can happen when those in the industry come together for a common goal. By the time you read this, we’ll be just over 200 days away from NEXUS, powered by BEMA and ABA.

We envision NEXUS to be an epicenter for collaboration and an ideal solution to many of your business and professional development needs. With collaboration and inclusion in mind, we’ve designed NEXUS to be a transformational event, one that speaks to the breadth and depth of the industry. NEXUS will include events for everyone – from executive leadership and business development to R&D, human resources and operations.

Foundational Approach

NEXUS will center on three primary pillars. The first pillar focuses on facilitating connections between bakers and suppliers. This is something we’ve found to be incredibly well-received at BEMA Convention and it continues to be a great way to boost connections among bakers and vendors who are looking at new ways to do business.

The second pillar provides timely education both formal and interactive. We know things in the industry continue to change at an incredible pace and without a commitment to keeping current, it’s easy to fall behind. NEXUS educational sessions will create a common ground for better communication, which leads me into our third pillar of industry collaboration.

I think it goes without saying that collaboration was instrumental in the industry’s ability to weather some of the incredibly difficult circumstances over the last couple of years. Those were challenging times and it’s likely there will continue to be challenges ahead. But the ability to come together for an event like NEXUS creates a distinct advantage point for industry players and places us in a greater position of strength.

Face-to-Face

One of the things about NEXUS that I’m especially excited about is the ability to make face-to-face connections. NEXUS will engage bakers and suppliers in team-to-team meetings, which provides a great opportunity for more in-depth conversations and input from multiple team contributors. Teams will also have time to strengthen their own internal connections. This means time and space dedicated to come together and gather ideas to create new solutions.

The NEXUS schedule has also purposefully built-in time to nurture existing business relationships, review current projects and discuss the needs that inevitably arise from both sides of the business. Analysts and experts presenting at NEXUS will provide timely insight on the topics that are impacting industry influencers now.

Making it Actionable

BEMA and ABA are incredibly excited about these four days in September, and we encourage you to bring your entire team, because we’ve created NEXUS as an event that offers something for everyone. The three pillars of NEXUS will allow leaders in the industry to have the information they need to make proactive decisions much quicker and to leave with tangible takeaways that can immediately be applied in the workplace. Let me know if you have any questions!
