Q: What got you into the baking industry?
A: I was looking for a change of pace where company culture thrived.
Q: Why do you love the business of baking?
A: Hands down the relationships – I have been in many industries but the relationships and partnerships in bakery makes work feel like a family.
Q: Who do you consider a mentor in the industry? Who has made an impact on your career?
A: Shout out to Dennis Gunnell and Vince Tamborello – these two gentlemen always answer my questions, introduce me at every opportunity, and their industry knowledge is priceless. I am grateful for their willingness to share openly and provide helpful perspectives based on their experiences.
Q: What goals do you have for your board membership tenure?
A: I’m excited about the opportunity to work alongside other industry leaders to address current challenges, prepare for what’s ahead, and promote practices that help both our businesses and people succeed. I hope through participation to continue to grow more meaningful relationships, share knowledge, and help ensure the long-term growth, competitiveness, and success of the baking industry.
Q: What trend are you most excited about in the baking industry right now?
A: Selfishly the trend to single serve portions – this makes life for this mom on the go so much easier.
Q: What was your favorite baked good as a kid, and now?
A: Verona Strawberry Cookies – my best memories from spending weekends with my aunt were sharing these cookies without having to share with my younger brothers. Now that I am in the equipment side of baking, I get to sample too many to have a favorite.
