Q: Tell us about your company and the products/services you offer:

A: Shick Esteve is a complete ingredient automation provider and the only global automation systems provider focused solely on the food industry. We design, manufacture, install and service ingredient automation systems for customers worldwide. Our expertise includes automation of bulk, minor/micro, liquid ingredients, and process design. Project services include engineering, project management, testing, site services and after sales support.

We’ve utilized our 60 years of food industry expertise to engineer full-system automation solutions. From food manufacturing to process management, we’re dedicated to helping industry leaders around the world exceed standards for productivity and safety. We provide innovative solutions for data integration, process control and ingredient storage for our partners in food-related industries from pet food to pastries.

Q: What is something new or innovative your company has done recently?

A: In 2020, the Linxis North American Technology Center was designed and built to show our current and prospective customers how the latest in ingredient automation, dough technology and process controls can benefit their business. Customers can test specific aspects of automated ingredient systems, mixing and dough technology, all the way to a complete proof of concept from ingredient delivery through mixing and baking.

Shick Esteve’s Linxis North American Technology Center combines the equipment process capabilities and expertise of LINXIS Group company partners— Bakon, DIOSNA, Shaffer, Unifiller and VMI. The technology center is utilized for the testing and demonstration of the latest in industry-leading ingredient automation, sourdough and fermentation systems, mixing and depositing technologies, as well as leading-edge process controls.

Q: What do you love most about the baking industry?

A: The strong support of the industry and the close relationships that are built as a result.

Q: How did you get started in the baking industry?

A: I was hired on as the CFO by Joe Ungashick with prior experience in the food industry on the protein side.

Q: What drew you and your company to join BEMA?

A: Our company has been a long standing supporter of BEMA. We uphold the same values to connect suppliers and manufacturers to build strong relationship for the benefit of the industry. I value the enduring connections and relationships formed at the BEMA events.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A: My wife and I love spending time with family and on the water. I enjoy watching sports and being outdoors – fishing, golfing and playing with our 3 dachshunds.

Q: Anything else you want our members to know about you or your company?

A: I love being part of a company that was founded as family and continues to have those values. We design our system solutions to provide accuracy and consistency in our customers’ production processes. That takes a lot of trust and confidence.
