Little did we know what lay ahead as we closed out our 2019 event. Only a few months later, we entered into a global pandemic shutting down events, industries, and businesses. The baking industry has exhibited an incredible amount of strength and resiliency in this difficult time. As we look forward to IBIE 2022, we are all eager to come together as a community and get back to business. Our passionate, dedicated committee is making every effort to ensure that IBIE 2022 is one for the record books and putting plans into place, starting with the launch of space sales for our valued exhibitors. I know it’s tough to believe, but it’s nearly time to secure your booth space, which is why I want to share a few important details and dates with you!

PROCESS AND PRICING UPDATES

Like previous years, the first round of space selection is only open to ABA, BEMA, and RBA members. But, unlike years past, we’ve split the process into two phases. The 30 members with the most priority points will be placed first, followed by the remaining member applicants. Round 2 will be open to members and past exhibitors. Dates for this phased approach are as follows:

Contracts will open up to all other suppliers on October 15, and space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

We’re also continuing our bundled pricing, which includes unlimited material handling and lead retrieval for easier budgeting. And new this show cycle, exhibitors can send their materials directly to the show site or the advanced warehouse. Utilizing the advance warehouse helps ensure delivery of your materials to your booth space in time for your targeted move-in time and a lot less stress in the process. Visit the Exhibitor FAQ page for more details.

NEW FOR 2022

The material handling options aren’t the only enhancements we’re making for IBIE 2022. You may have heard that we’re moving from the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center to the new, state-of-the-art West Hall and maintaining our North Hall location as well. If you haven’t seen the news about this just-added space, I encourage you to do a little Googling. It’s a beautiful hall with plenty of natural light, a new food hall, digital signage and plenty of upgrades—not to mention the futuristic underground loop, where Teslas will transport attendees. The enhancements made to our longtime convention center home are sure to elevate the show to a new level and mirror the dedication to innovation that’s always on display at IBIE.

The West Hall will house the Sanitation Pavilion, where attendees can discover solutions for and insights into this increasingly important industry topic, as well as the virtual bakery tours and Artisan Marketplace. In the North Hall, you’ll find a new addition in the Business of Cannabis Pavilion, which provides an in-depth look at this rapidly growing market. The North Hall will also feature favorites such as The World Bread Awards, RBA Bakers Center and Great American Pie Festival.

LOOKING FORWARD

The beginning of space selection is always exciting, and even more so after a year filled with tough challenges and a lack of opportunities to do business in person. When IBIE 2022 kicks off, it won’t just be the largest event for the grain-based foods industry in the Western Hemisphere—it will also be the first major baking industry trade show in the last three years. That makes it even more important to come together as a community and navigate our changing environment while determining the way forward.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Sincerely,
DENNIS GUNNELL
IBIE 2022 CHAIR
