CEO Insights: Thankful Thoughts

I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that this year has flown by at an incredible pace. It’s as if we’ve either been in a mode of wondering what could be coming up next or pacing ourselves against the excitement of finally being able to move forward and make plans.

Making Connections

This thankfully has included continuing to be in-person. After our span of time not traveling, I’ve found a renewed value in being face to face. There’s a real magic to the level of spontaneity and flow that can occur when people come together. I liken it to the incredible feeling of being in the right place at the right time. I think this is particularly true in the baking industry where we have the benefit of having such a special and distinctive camaraderie.

These connections were front and center at IBIE 2022. For so long, IBIE has collectively represented both a possibility and a promise of bringing the industry together as a force. As the feedback keeps rolling in, we continue to get a clearer picture of the success of this monumental event.  The team is already strategizing for IBIE 2025. I think IBIE will continue to be an important watermark event, representing the power and longevity of the baking industry.

Collaborative Efforts

I’m also thankful for the noteworthy industry collaborations achieved this year. It was great to partner with ABA at IBIE and I know this is a sign of good things to come in 2023 as we begin planning NEXUS, powered by BEMA and ABA. Both teams are excited to be collaborating on the event that will center around industry, education and the business of baking. We believe NEXUS will be an ideal solution to many of your business and professional development needs.

Individual Contributions

I’d like to end this note with a thank you to the many individuals who help bring these gatherings and events to fruition. These are collaborations in the best sense of the word, and I am so grateful to be a part of these various connections and inputs that help BEMA, and our partners, create an incredible range of events and experiences. I am so very appreciative, and I want to thank you all for the important role each of you play in this. We hope your Thanksgiving was equally filled with gratitude.
